Group Buy?

Would anyone be interested in buying some bulk quantities of ammo as a group? As I understand the prices can go way down when you're buying a 'few' cases.

What are you looking for? My local shop is selling Armscor USA 55 Grain FMJ .223 for about $440.00 for 1000, if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure they would go down a bit if you were to but multiple cases. & when I asked a week or two ago they said the had a BUNCH of cases in stock!

I could probably get them to the West side or meet someone in Ellensburg if anyone was interested.

Edit: or if you guys can hook up a good deal I might be interested in going in & picking it up next time I get over that way.

Wally World is selling Remington 55grain ball ammo, brass case fmj boattails for $399.90 for 1000 or 39.99 per box of 100. No need to buy bulk to get discount. It's pretty good ammo, certainly better than brass case wolf stuff. Wellesley North Spokane Wally world has about 3000 rounds as of yesterday at 7:30pm.

Thats a pretty damn good price these days. Last time I looked at WalMart, about two weeks ago, all three of our local stores were completely out of .223 ammo. I'm gunna have to check back with them.

I was thinking a few thousand 9mm or 5.56mm since that seems to be the calibers that EVERYONE has and are getting harder to find?

As of April of '09, it wasn't too bad especially being as no one else had ANY available.

Within the last year since that post was made, yes availability is up & prices are somewhat down.

WTF is up with people bumping 9+ month old threads about ammo prices? UGH.

Yes, my fault for not checking the post date, but seriously... if you want to talk about ammo prices *now*, start something new.

WTF is up with people that bought ammo at the height of prices trying to sell it now for more than you can go buy it yourself? I'm not sure if they're just trying to get back what they paid (too much) or thinking they're gonna profit off it, but either way why would anyone pay more than you can just go buy it for?

Frankly I hope all the people that horded ammo to sell for profit A) all burn in hell B) are stuck with piles of ammo they cant sell and lose their shirts on the deal

Yup. The ammo I bought to "keep" is stuff that was somewhat rare and that I haven't seen back on the market (Winchester 124gr NATO 9mm for example...).

The stuff I bought and ended up selling was because the result of tons of range visits last year. I bought more as I found it, but I ended up with about 2k more than I needed. I sold it for what I bought it for (which was "normal" prices because I picked it up at wally-world.) In the end, I've ended up with some great stuff to keep, plenty of cheaper stuff for practice at the range, and came out OK without having to spend $400 per 1k for 9mm

what is the average price of 9mm now for 1K rounds? I didn't really check at the gun show, but am looking for either range and/or home defense, but more for range stuff..

Wally World in your area seems to always have it in stock, compared to the WW's up here that don't have shit.

I picked up 1k rounds of BVAC 115gr 9mm factory reloads from surplusammo for 189+tax the other day. Ammo shoots good and seems to run cleaner than PMC.

Ya, last time I was at my local WallyWorld they had the shelves stocked full of ammo. It was a good sight! I didn't catch the prices either, but It was good to see things getting back to normal.

18 dollars for a 50 round box!? That's insane. I wouldn't pay more than 10 or 11.

Ummm...just about anywhere. Wal-Mart in particular...but just to be clear, 18 dollars a box plus tax for a 50 round box if 9mm target/range ammo?

Now that I'm sure we're talking about the same thing...you need to check out:

gun-deals.com - User-Submitted Gun & Ammunition Deals

At the top of that list you'll notice 50 round boxes of Blazer for 9 bucks at Walmart...now, I understand that Wal-Marts in WA charge a little more as compared to other states (not sure why)...and I also understand that many Puget Sound Wal-Marts don't regularly have ammo in stock (which is strange given that the ammo shortage is basically over, every where else in the country - my brother tells me ammo is plentiful in PA,WV and OH).

Wal-Mart excluded...check out those prices on 500 or 1000 round orders...most of that stuff is about 11 dollars a box SHIPPED TO YOUR FRONT DOOR.

That's where I'm finding the "mysterious cheap ammo." Not all that difficult.

Shiiiiit...just go to Surplus Ammo in Lakewood and buy some some reloads - save the 20 dollars shipping and you'll get it for less than 10 dollars a box (after tax)!

Done and done.

...hahaha...18 dollars a box for 9mm target loads....hahahaha.

Indeed...which is why I took the time to confirm we were all talking about the same thing - even though, it's pretty clear "Dodgeramstein" said he saw 9mm for 18 dollars a box...hence my statement about never paying that much.

But in all honestly, I've seen worse prices...during the high point of the ammo shortage, I saw a range selling 9mm target ammo for $24.00 a box plus tax. I walked right out.

They may have been 100 round boxes, don't really know I didn't ask or even look at them. I walked by the counter and noticed them as I walked by. Just nice to see them showing up on the shelves again. Haven't seen them carrying any 9mm for awhile now. I usually go straight for the .45 anyway :)

ALL three Wally World's in my area are OUT of CCI 22 LR round nose copper coat.
I 'STOCK-UP' whenever I see it on their shelves.
I could use 2,000 more !

Anyone still interested in a Group buy? I could use some more .223, and 9mm and .45 and 40 for that matter, I just got a case of Winchester 9mm for $110, I can get a case of 500 rounds of .45 for about 165 I think It's the Magtech ammo. I get most of my ammo from Ammunition to go. I generally get the cheap Brownbear for my AR you can get it for about 90 bucks for a 500 rounds case, and I have 1,000 rounds at the moment but I could use more, I got 500 rounds of .40 Ficocchi for 140 not too long ago and could use some more of that.. so if anyone wants to buy 1000 round case or msg them about buying bulk cases I would be down to go in on a buy at anytime. I know they used to have 1000 rounds cases of the nato green tip penetrator .223 for 350 or less. for those looking for decent 7.62x39 Aimsurplus has a 1,200 case for 199 except the stuff the stuff I got were on strippers in a spam can. The best places to get ammo are www.Ammunitiontogo.com], www.Cheaperthandirt.com sometimes has good deals. www.sportsmanguide.com also has good deals on ammo when they have it in stock.

What I’m really looking for though is a group buy in good .45 and 9mm because doing the math buying a 1000 round case is considerably cheaper than going to the store and paying 25 bucks for a 50 round box. Like I said, I’ll go in on 9 or .40 and .223/556. So if we're going to do a group buy we should consider doing it soon sometimes around Christmastime they have killer sales and free shipping which can save 40 bucks alone.

I will admit I’m sorta guilty of that, I had a friend of a friend who said/thought he had about 1,200 rounds of 7.62x39, and I went and inspected it and realized it was .308 ammo not 7.62x39. I didn't tell the guy that a bit dishonest on my part but the guy was a dick. I told the guy I'd give him something like $150 bucks for it, paid for it got it, turned around and sold it for almost $1,000 bucks literally the next day.. I really don’t feel bad, the guy was a dick and it's his own fault for not knowing what he had

I hope you used that profit to pay off some of your medical bills so you don't have to keep sucking off the public dime.
