I picked up a project rifle from some guys up in Everett, it was a mess when i got it. thought i would show what progress i have made on getting it back to a shooter.

all parts together ready for mock reassembly to see where i stand on needing replacement parts and whatnot.

100_5381Large.jpg

need a new forward handguard mount block, i broke this one and possibly a couple other items, but i may end up fabricating them myself, like the front sight, this one is gnarly and i will have to fab up a sight hood for it. I will buy a Mosin 91/30 sight hood for it and mount it on the sight.

Check out how nice the barrel turned out compared to before i started!

Damn man, you've done an amazing transformation with that gun! The bore of that barrel would be my only concern.

the bore is nearly pristine actually, that and the reciever/action are the only two reasons i even attempted to do anything with it.
just awaiting a magazine for it now and i will terrify some targets soon!

Fantastic work man. Looks like all that work paid off!

Hopefully you didn't have to buy that gun? I'm assuming it was provided to you at no charge?

Wow... just wow. I can't believe anyone could look at that gun how you got it and say "that'll buff out, I can fix it!". I would have thought it was a goner. Damn nice work!

I have a serious problem with things like this rifle.

Its a Squires Bingham marked model 16.
M1600r fabricated by Armscor of the Philippines.

supposed to be fun to shoot also, but only time will tell as i am still trying to find me a magazine and finish the front sight for it.

Not sure what you are wanting to spend on a magazine, but there are a couple up on GunBroker right now.

Its getting closer to playtime!
My new magazine is at the UPS depot in Redmond now.

I will get it tomorrow. I will go to the indoor range here in kent possibly tomorrow and test fire it as soon as i can. possibly tomorrow after i get off work.
Hope my boss lets me off early now hehe!:mfclap:

my eyes not being good for peep sights, i may get me a set of tall scope mounts for it in the future or fabricate a mount that will fit atop the handle with a dovetail on it.
