RRA availability???

So I finally got the dough to buy an AR, figured out what I want (that be a RRA) but was told they are 8+ months backordered??? I really wanted to build one off a standard A4, but a Varmint A4 would be close enough to what I want.

Anyone know where to get RRA or if the backlog of orders is really that bad?

start checking around at different gun stores.

One thing I noticed at the last gunshow I went to, is this **** is no longer selling. Jason and I went to the last WAC show, and we showed up later (around noon, left at 2) and there were still Lower Parts Kits laying around everywhere.

I think the Frenzy is over, and you'll start to be able to see some of this stuff make it back on to shelves. I know the last few times I've been to some of the shops we frequent they have always had a good selection of AR's from RR, DF, and the like.

Well that's encouraging. Federal Way had a couple in stock, though not exactly what I'm looking for. They said they can get S&W, DPMS I think, but just no RRA.

I wasn't really planning on building one from scratch, but if it comes down to it I will. I was looking on Armalite's site last nite and found a model pretty close to the RRA I was looking at, so that could work as well.

Does it have to be a complete gun? You could build one for less the a grand if that interested ya.

As already stated the mad rush appears to be over & prices are coming back down & availability is getting better. Most of the manufacturers are trying to fill back orders asap. Just keep your eyes open & you will find what you want.

It doesn't *have* to be a complete gun, but that is what I wanted. I don't really want to build one unless I have to. I've waited this long, I spose I can wait a little longer.

Cuz it seems they're the only ones that let me build exactly what I want. Some of the others have models that are close, but not exact.

So now I'm thinking this one:

Olympic Arms, Inc. - K8 - Targetmatch

From what I've heard, Olympic arms uses non-standard parts which makes interchangeability much much harder.

I'm sure someone *cough* (mic) *cough* can chime in with more details.

So if your considering a 20" why not get either of these? I know they would both be cheaper in they didn't have match triggers, but I would rather have a RRA then an Oly any day. I know they have supposedly gotten better but I had too many issues with them in the past.

Well RRA was my first choice, but apparently they are backordered until 2020, so I'm forced to look elsewhere. I didn't really want the NM as it has front irons, and what's the deal with that handguard? It's a free float right? But just not a tube style?

I spose I could go with the NM A4 and be able to shoot the irons as is, and pop off the handle and mount a scope?

Good to know. I spose I'd rather stick with the standard parts crowd. You know, just in case TSHTF and I need to "repair" my weapons Fallout 3 style.

Just got back from Kesselrings and they have 2 Armalight AR10s 308 for 22-2400

$2400.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LORD THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY!For a gun with an MSRP of between $1500.00 & $1900.00!!! Unless it was the AR10 SuperS.A.S.S. then it would be a good deal!

KMD, If you are going to spend that kind of money on a .308 you should REALLY look into a DSA FAL even if you have your heart set on an AR-10!
