AR Calibers..

Other than the 223/5.56, what are some of the other calibers (uppers) one can put on an AR lower?
I know the obvious stuff.. 50 BMG (single shot), 9mm, 45acp, .22LR, 50 Beowolf.. anything else worth looking at?

I really wish you could chamber the AR15 in 308....

Shit Pete.... you had me all fired up there for a second...

I already have the lower.. I just wondered what other (viable) cartridge there was out there that one could use..

I guess considering ammo availability, I'll stick with 223/5.56 for this one.

I'll just have to get that AR10 one of these days....

AR Calibers - AAC 300 Blackout

Also known as the 300 Whisper. I wanted an AR 15, but I also wanted a 30 cal.
Not having any idea what I was doing, I bought an AR lower. It just happened to be made by AAC . I started doing some research and found the AAC lower could accommodate 223/5.56 and also a 30 cal called the 300 Blackout. The same lower, the same magazines, same bolt, just change the uppers. I now have two uppers for my lower and love the idea. The 300 BO has very little recoil and lower noise level than the 223. It's illegal to big game hunt with a 223 in WA so I'll hang my 300 BO on the lower and use it. I only have one set of iron sights, so I put them on the 300 and used a laser cartridge to align them. Hope to get to the range next week and check my zero at 50 and then 100 yards. If the scope mounts come in I'll take the 5.56 upper along and shoot it too.
