So I`ve seen .22 ARs everywhere, some of dubious quality. But what I haven`t seen before is this-A .22 LR M16A1. I`ve always loved the look, and this one has really caught my eye. It appears to be an Armi Jager AP-74. After a couple quick reads on forums long dead, it appears to be quite accurate for what it is, but a real Pain to put back together after disassembly. Here`s the catch on the one I found: It`s missing a mag. Does anyone know where I can buy one or two?

Forgot to mention, I`ve already checked Gunbroker. That just seemed like the most likely place I would find one.

Wonder how you lose the magazine anyways. I did a bit of googling, looks like others that are looking for parts such as extractors and stuff have been out of luck so far for 2 + years. Might be wary in getting one of these in-case something else goes wrong with it.

Yeah, the guy sent me an email saying that he`s not interested in what I`ve got to trade, but I`m getting closer to selling off that stuff, maybe I could buy it from him.

I know it's not an A1, but the S&W M&P15-22 is a rock solid choice....especially with the availability of 35 Rnd Mags

This doesn't look like a real AR?

I guess I`m picky when it comes to guns, the mag just seems too large, Yes, It does look like an AR, I just don`t quite care for the aesthetics of *that* one. I like the look of an M16A1, like the rimfire I came across.

I did some google-fu. Looks like Armi Jager was based in Italy, and has been out of business since the early 90s. Good luck finding mags for it..

The mag in the photo above is the 35 Rnd Plinker Tactical, yes it is quite long and yes the 25 Rnd S&W M&P15-22 mags are longer than a 30 Rnd Pmag, but looking at the end view, the M&P 15-22 mags are only 0.010 wider in the cross section (up and down in my photo) But are narrower in width than the Pmag by 0.060, coming in at 2.450 in to the Pmag's 2.510. I don't think you will find a .22 magazine more dimensionally correct to the real thing than a M&P 15-22 mag :dontknow:

Other than not being an A1 I do see a bit of extra length (difference) in the lower of the 15-22, behind the grip, below the charge handle.

When you put it like that, it does satisfy my interest. Still, I think the one I found just looks better.

I've got an M&P 15-22.. and several AR's
I swap furniture often.. everything seems very similar.

You can't swap the upper on to a proper AR lower.. but visually it looks the same..

I`m sure that this is a really dumb question, but can a lower from an M&P15-22 fit on a regular AR upper? Or is nothing else, apart from furniture, swappable?

No not dumb at all..the M&P15-22 is a proprietary 22 Cal platform, the grips are the only thing I can think of that spec out to a .223/5.56 AR?
