i know that my m&P 15 -22 is about the same as a ruger 10-22....lol I really don't see what the difference is, 22lr is 22lr. If you're worried about noise, get some sub-sonic ammo and a can permit :) |

I have a silenced SR-22. Very quiet, and yes, subsonic ammo does work. :)

yes a can is a silencer lolz hehe! Really I think the barrel length / rifling would be more what would make the difference in noise versus brand. Unless you're talking about the action in which case I would guess they are prolly the same anyways. |

so, why are you worried about noise? the reason I ask is, with a .22, you won't notice a significant difference in noise between similar models (all .22 rifles will be roughly the same loudness). if you are worried about your ears, wear ear protection anyway, no matter what you are shooting. if you are worried about neighbors, again, you won't notice a significant difference in noise. It also hits MUCH harder and is extremely accurate.

never had a problem in my 10/22 Ruger, most silencers say to use subsonic ammo or you can damage them. Mine does... I use Remington 22 subsonic hollow point,,,, you still have the action noise clink clink clink hehehehehe

I did have a friend who had some old .22 with full length wood grip, For some reason that thing was as quite as a pellet gun with any ammo. Strange.
