I've heard some say that if you leave an ar mag fully loaded that it can soften the spring over time..

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I have a stack of mags, both metal and magpul 30 rounders that I've left loaded for a while.

should I remove the rounds until I'm ready to use 'em?

I believe the springs are generally GTG, it's the feed lips. Some makes of mags will slightly distort the lips. Magpuls newer P-MAGs have a cover that slightly pushed down on the shells. I know you can get replacement springs and followers for milspec mags, so there might be something to wear. PAX

mags are cheap and if you have to go through a few thousand rounds (zombies) stopping to reload could be considered a tactical disadvantage.

load em if you got em
