last weekends purchase.

So I did'nt post any pics of this since it was'nt very pretty when I got it. Wood had lots of chips in the varnish and the colour of the wood was bleached and you could see where someone had put a slip over recoil pad on it and that left the wood 2 different colours. So I sanded it down and stained it. The wood did'nt really take the stain uniformly but I think it looks better than it did.

your redneck workbench does not look very sturdy, nor strong... :p

Looks good though! You could try doing a light sand on it again, and going with a lighter color to bring out the grain in some area's, then seal it up.

I'd have gone with a much darker stain. I've always wanted a black walnut colored rifle.

Too bad I'm not willing to sand/stain my 10/22... lol

that was using dark walnut stain.

Wood did'nt take the stain nearly as well as I hoped it would.

Got a bushnell 6-18x50 for it and some leupold rings since the old ones were about 2mm too low for the new scope but the low mount leupolds were high enough.
