Well the upper atleast. I have been wanting a 50 BMG rifle for quite some time and when a buddy wanted to get rid of an AR lower for really cheap, I decided I would finally put a 50 together. Today I ordered a Bohica Arms 36" .50 BMG upper reciever. So I have a few parts left to get to finish the build, but by the end of the month I should be shooting it. :mfclap:

Already got a BSA Stealth 8-32 x 44 scope for it, lower parts kit is on its way along with the buffer tube and a Hogue grip. All I'm missing now is the Magpul PRS Stock that is currently backordered.

Thats my understanding, simply snaps on to your AR lower. However they do recomend installing a heavier hammer spring since the standard hammer spring can have difficulties igniting the .50 primers. By getting a lot of the items on sale, the entire build will cost me right around $2200 including optics. Not a bad price for a .50 BMG with 36" barrel.

I specifically want black. I've seen the other colors on various websites also, but black seems to be hard to find. Thanks for mentioning ebay, I'm bidding on one but I don't want to pay his BIN price.

I think so. I have the same scope on my .300 Win Mag AR-30 and it works great on that rifle, plus they have a lifetime warranty so even it doesn't handle the recoil I will get it replaced and can sell it or mount it on something else.

I gotta get it before I can take pics. Here is one that is similar to what I'm putting together.

The differences on mine will be: free floating barrel, Hogue grip, 36" fluted barrel, and different optics. Other than that should look pretty much the same.

^but doesn't the magazine needs to hold the rounds?

the well that holds the mag is too short for a .50 bmg

is it just a single shot then?

It is just a single shot. For just over 2k I'll deal with loading each round into the breach by hand. For a magazine fed bolt on upper, they are running around 3k for the upper alone. And the cheapest magazine fed rifle I've seen is bushmaster's and if I recall correctly is going for about 5k.

looks like it would be hella fun!

and for a .50 bmg for that price, I'd deal with single loading too!

The gun store I frequent had a used one they sold me for 140. It had a broken dust cover (they are integrated into the scope), so I sent it back and they should be sending me a brand new one(cost about 20 in shipping for both ways). The last one I bought new, I think it was around 220 or so though.
