Anyone else on here have a 257 roberts? my grandfather gave it to me when i first started hunting at age 12. have used it every year since then, now 21.
I love this rifle shoots super flat and no recoil at all, I use it on deer and coyotes. I use reloads my grandafather made for it.

I have a Ruger M77 compact in .257 Roberts I bought back in the mid '80's. Bought it for Western Oregon deer hunting. Love it, it's very versatile and handy. Very similar to my Dad's 6.5x55 Swede. Just like you say, low recoil, shoots flat, very accurate.

I have an old remmy 721 or 722 forget which that my father-in-law found on his place laying on a pile of juniper branches two years after he bought the place. ,looks pretty good now but doesnt shoot all that good. I will keep it for sentimental reasons. thinking about giving it to my grandson.

Sheepdip your rifle is likely a 722 as they didn't make the 257 roberts in a 721 unless someone had it custom made. You should for sure hold on to it! Those are not super common in a 722 that is a great find. The caliber itself is a great round my great grandmother has the same rifle and her two daughters have different rifles in the same caliber. Might have to get one myself one day but for now the 243 and 260 I have do just fine.
