Hi, I'm looking at getting in to target shooting competitions for .22 rifles. I don't even really know where to begin. I need to know what are generally speaking requirements for guns? and special ammo considerations? I would also appreciate any general advise. I want to get a decent gun that will grow with me, but money is a factor and i see no need to get "too much Rifle" (by that i mean one with features i will never use and have no idea how to anyway):top:

Thanks for your help :ciao:

It seems like everyone and their mother has a 10/22 and absolutely loves it... having said that I don't own a 10/22.

Slowest loading page ^ ever.

If it's being used as a gun to get into shooting, why would you need to trick it out? My thought would be get something basic that provides the desired task(s) and has the opportunity to expand. The 10/22 does this. The Mark XXII is a nice looking gun, but unless the competition requires a bolt-action rifle it's going to be a lot slower shooting than a semi-auto.
