Why is this?:hmmmm2:

I believe it is correct & it is my understanding that if you purchase a handgun from any FFL dealer the paperwork has to be ran through an FFL in the state that you reside. No matter how many states you carry a CPL from.

Kinda stupid, but so are many of the firearms laws that we have to deal with.

Well thanks for the reply,i was hoping the gun sales person was mistaken but figured that wasn't the case.I could have wandered around and asked other venders at the show but i was bummed so i left.

I don't have an Oregon CWP, but I realized it was worthless for me to go to any of the local Oregon gun shows looking for pistols because anything I found from a FFL would have to go through my local dealer anyway.

That is correct. Under Federal law, not state law, a handgun cannot be bought in a state that you are not a resident of. This is in the information that I got when I got my FFL as a firearms manufacturer.
