Greetings,
I want to pass along some info. pertaining to getting your CC permit (a license for a 2A right. . .don't get me started :banghead:)

There is a free online course MD Firearms Safety Training that you can take which satisfies the requirement of a firearms safety class. As far as I am aware, this only works for Clackamas County.

Did I mention it is FREE and only takes about 20 mins? :mfclap:

One would need to set a fingerprinting appt. here: Concealed Handgun Licenses

Clackamas is requiring a safety class prior to the "Shall issue"?

Yes as do all counties in the State of Oregon since that provision has been in the law since passed in 89. Some counties at the decression of the Sherrif do not accept on line classes.

Sorry, I was being a dork, and despite living in Kelso for my childhood...I was thinking WA....

FWIW, I am a proponent for training requirements to obtain a license.

I took a four course, and am glad I did because even though I have a Florida license and am an experienced and safe shooter, I learned about Oregon law regarding the use of deadly force.

I applied on line in Clackamas County, had my appointment three weeks later, was fingerprinted, had my picture taken and was handed my license.

When I expressed surprise and asked about a background check, was told because I applied on line they did the check during the interim period.

Very quick and painless process, notwithstanding some horror stories I had heard about getting a license in Oregon.
