| Ammo Shortages?
I have been looking around at the gun stores and it looks like there is some sort of ammo shortage. I have been stockpiling ammo for a while and after seeing the bare shelves I am thinking that everyone else has been doing the same. Specifically I have been searching for .22LR since most of the ammo prices have gone through the roof! I ordered a couple bricks online but I want to get some locally.

Umm... you're just now figuring this out? The ammo shortage is mostly over now. Ammo is in stock at most stores (though not always full selection or quantity) and prices are coming back down. That said, .22 LR is still hard to find, at least decent/cheap plinking ammo. |

Well I just got back from a deployment and hadn't been looking for ammo for a while so the empty shelves are new to me.

if you want to know locations that have ammo, let us know where you are so we can tell you what's close. "WA state" doesn't give us much to work with. adventure sports here in lynnwood always has plenty though...

I live in Bremerton. I went by the usual haunts- Walmart, Big 5, Sportsman's Wherehouse, Sportco, Federal Way discount guns, Cabela's, The Marksman and found very little selection of ammo. At Cabela's yesterday they only had some Eley at $3.59 a box of 50.

But the insanity seems to have passed, most stores have ammo in stock now, and prices are coming down. I just picked up a couple boxes of Winchester white box FMJ .45 for $30/100 at Wally World. 9mm was $9/50. ARs are in stock again as well at gun stores. Primers are still nearly impossible to find, or people are price gouging horribly.

Welcher's in Tacoma has primers, powder, and lots of ammo. The reason? Their prices are high right now. A bulk pack of .22lr there was $35! That is what keeps them in stock.(unless they've lowered prices in the last month or so) Mary's Pistols in Tacoma had .22lr bulk packs for $30 if I remember right. If you don't mind driving some distance, you can get primers, powder, and ammo at a more reasonable price, head for County Line Shooting Sports in McKenna.(.22lr bulk pack for $20.) The Big 5 near me had a box of .30 carbine I was going to get for my M1 carbine. No price on the shelf so I had to ask. They wanted $47! I thanked the clerk for the laugh and left. Good luck with your search. |

| Sportco in Fife has em in stock now. They're rationing them to two boxes of 100 per size per customer per day. As in you can get 200 small pistol, 200 large pistol, 200 small rifle, etc but no more than 200 of any kind. Kinda lame, but at least they always have them in stock now so I'd rather they ration than not have any. Oh and normal prices too... no gouging, just a limited supply. |

My friend wrote this to me the other day I ordered 5 bricks of .22 cal in Early August. It was backordered to 15 September. Cabela’s just sent me an e-mail that they still don’t have it and “do you want to continue or cancel your order?”. I told them to continue it. It’ll be interesting to see when (if ever) it comes in. Cabela’s isn’t exactly a small-time outfit with little buying power. |
