I live in WA and am looking at how to get my OR CHL. I understand that some counties are more friendly than others, but does anyone know if any of them allow you to apply online or by mail? I am in Oregon a lot, but always nights and weekends, and I am strugling to figure out when and where to apply. Any advice or insights? I took the safety class, but the guy who ran it didn't know much about the details of appplying in OR. I would really love to not have to take a day off of work to drive down just to take care of paperwork. |

I believe anywhere you apply you will have to do it in person...They have to do fingerprints and picture..The Sheriff in Grant County will issue to non residents that meet the same requirements as a resident.. PM if you have more questions... BTW check out my post on the subject here Clicky dan Last edited by Wistrick; 04-24-2010 at 07:14 PM. |

Posts: 4 | true but if you get a utah non resident permit and you have an oregon permit you cover the absolute most states that have reciprocity including washington. i believe theres only 4 or 5 states all to the east that you would not be covered in... just food for thought for those who travel alot

Currently Oregon only allows out of state permits for certain bordering counties in Washington and Idaho. There is a bill in the state senate right now to make it so that Oregon recognizes all other state's CWP's which would be awesome. I'm hoping it passes.
