Idiots With Guns

Most if not all of you have probably heard about all of the shootings here in the PNW. I'm talking especially about the children getting their hands on guns and shooting themselves or another child. This is kinda scary since the gun owners are supposedly RESPONSIBLE permit holders or law enforcement. My question here is do we have anything to worry about as far as our rights are concerned? Are lawmakers going to get pressured by the anti-gun supporters to enact stricter laws or outright bans?

Here's a story I read last night that really hits home: Idiots with Guns. If this keeps going, we could be in for some real changes, perhaps?

And that several recent incidences have occurred right here in our own back yard doesn't help. We live in a predominantly "liberal" (And I don't use that term negatively necessarily) region. And quite a few of them are active in their community and are getting tired of hearing about this kind of crap.

One of the problems I see is that people are generally "Gun fearing" folk. Not realizing that, and this never ceases to amaze me, the gun isn't the problem at all. The people are.

The other is the inability for some to take responsibility for one's actions and suffer the consequences.

So are gun ownership rights in jeopardy because of recent events? You bet they are.

You hit the nail right on the head, Michael. People don't take responsibility, always pointing fingers everywhere else but at themselves. It's exhasperating.

Yeah, it's almost like these incidents were picked up and painted JUST for the purpose of supporting legislation against gun ownership...

What's really stupid is they don't consider that crime rates won't go down, they will go up with more home invasions, more robberies, shootings... by whom? Not law abiding citizens but by criminals. When it's clear that LAW ABIDING citizens have no more guns, criminals become fearless.

Maybe thats what they want? More reliance on the .gov to provide your security.

My gods I hope not! Without the ability to defend yourself and what you've worked hard to obtain, what use is there? these anti-gun activists really chap my hide. I really hope it never comes to that.
