Cops and guns

Funny how politicians like Bloomberg trumpet how 'cops are all for this' yet all the cops I hear speaking out publicly on gun control are AGAINST it, many to the point of saying they won't enforce any draconian bans in their jurisdiction, or allow feds to do so.

The explanation is obvious: cops deal with crime and criminals on a daily basis, they know how the real world works. Politicians OTOH, live in an isolated world so out of touch with lives of ordinary folks they have no clue what the real world is all about, and it shows. Doesn't stop them from sticking their feet in their mouths every chance they get though.

Plus let's not kid ourselves here. Guys like Bloomberg don't give a flying **** about safety, or reducing crime. It's not gun control, it's people control they're after. They don't want 'reasonable' gun control/regulation, the want total confiscation, and this is just a step towards that.

I have had a couple of encounters with the LEO's in Scappoose, Or.
One of the officers started giving me a lecture about his point of view on CHL holders, and he was very against it.

I was very polite and informed him that i was within my rights to have and use my CHL to carry my handgun, any time or place allowed by oregon law. My point of view did not make him very happy.

Maybe shoulda told him that Columbia County has the highest concealed weapons permit holders of any county per capita in Oregon.

Then tell him to move to Multnomah County.

The problem with, well, let me start that again... one of the many problems with Bloomberg and many other politicians is that the only view of LEO representation they get are the high up people who they appoint to those positions and have to kiss his but and be his yes man, or else he fires them and hires someone else. So of course he thinks that all of the police agree with him. He never hears any of them dissagree. They are politicians, not police.

That, and I will agree with you guys: Dudes an idiot.
