So a few days ago I had to go to the Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane WA for those that don't know. On all of the buildings there was this sign on at least the main doors,

I know the first part is worthless.

I know the second part is meaningless in legal terms. First there is no "RCW" quoted under it. Second it is private property so IF you are "caught" carrying the worst thing they can do is ask you to leave.

The question I have is on the third section. My thought is that they have NO legal right to search you or your stuff since it is private. My thought is that of course if you refuse to search that worst they can do is ask you to leave.

Any comments?

I think you are spot on, doubt they search everyone who comes thru the door anyway. All they can do is ask you to leave. Hope all is well with your health.

They do not search everyone through the door, or anyone for that matter. Was just asking if there was possibly any legal standing they may have.

There are very few places and very seldom I don't carry. This non-legal sign was not about to stop me.

All is well, GF was just having an outpatient procedure.

I will check out that link and add too it.

Bizarre.

But it makes me wonder if I should put a sign with that third part up for when I have parties. Would be a good excuse to frisk the girls. Things that make you go, "Hmmmmmm..."

....Like girls won't notice that the LESS they are wearing, the more likely they are to be frisked..

These signs should be edited- "Since this is a gun free zone, wearing body armor is highly recommended."

I make it a habit of NEVER looking for these stupid signs. If I do happen to see one, I smirk and continue on with my business.....
