Republican or not, at least they generally look out for the 2nd.

This is probably the worst one still alive, and personally I don't feel it's that bad. I wouldn't sell privately to someone w/o a CPL anyway. Just for my own karma if you will, I'd like some assurance that I'm not selling a gun to a criminal.

Broadening background checks for firearm purchases. House Bill 1588 requires a
background check on the sale of a firearm when both the seller and purchaser are not licensed as
dealers and the purchaser doesn’t have a valid Washington concealed pistol license and requires
the background check to be conducted by a dealer or a local law enforcement. Passed House
Judiciary Committee; In House Rules Committee

The way I see it this bill is a problem because it takes more responsibility away from private citizens. It's not as much as a problem as it was before because the original version said you had to leave a record of your transaction with whoever does the background check, but the wording was changed saying the agency may no longer keep the form.

Since they are all about compromise I think we should get sbr's and at least a call in service for ftf sales. And if no background call service we should be able to bill the state for the inconvenience of having to do this in the first place.

I'll beat a dead horse here when I say this won't do a damn thing about crime. Its a feel good measure and nothing more.

I should've added this to my post. This doesn't affect criminals, and therefore it's a bill targeting law abiding citizens and detracting from their constitutional right.
