Looks like this fight is going to go on for several years now.... They have a multi billion dollar backer. I don't disagree with background checks or requiring people to have a CPL, but I worry that it's a slippery slope. "The first priority is the background-check proposal.". That statement worries me that they want to get the background checks in then move on to banning certain guns so on and so forth.
First it'll be those pesky hollow hollow points, they cause unnecessary harm to the victim. Then hard ball because of collateral damage.

Here's the problem though - If they get enough support to put one of these measures on the ballot, we lose. No question. It's the primary reason our founders feared true democracy.
