My opinion is this, things will Never be pre Kennedy Assassination. Those were the days anyone could order a firearm through the mail. So let's get up to speed here. That Idiot in the theater shooting had been making large purchases. I would assume that they are looking for anyone making such buys. If one is a law abiding citizen and one is just purchasing for your private use; One would not have anything to worry about. Worry or not, since 911 they have stepped up surveillance on Americans. ( Warrant-less spying has been going on since the 50's, finally made it legal with the Patriot Act) The thing is, are you going to run around worried sick, for something you can do nothing about. Said it before and still repeating the same Ole ****. Join the NRA, get your friends and family, they are the most powerful lobby we have left. I thank God the **** that I feel is coming won't take place in my life time. It's the ones under 40 and the children I feel the most for...AJ

Apparently all the White House residents are indictment-proof. Still and all, it's probably not a bad idea to break up quantities to a 1k rounds at a time over several months.
Funny, I can't see a person's phone bill or credit card statements without a subpoenea; the Alphabet agencies just need a letter or a phone and it's no longer a felony, it's for the children.

In the last year I have purchased 4 long guns and 2 pistols. I knew before I bought the first one the info would be on a govt form for checking. Whether I used a CC to pay for it or not. I did use the card so now there is redundant confirmation.
If you stick strickly to private sales for cash or equivalent, get to it and get equiped before politics makes that more difficult and "il-legal". Same for ammo and accessories. Don't CC or PayPal any of that, or recognize you cannot have ease of transactions without data to govt.
If you apply for a CC license, they have plenty of hard info to add to their data. They search that data base for felonies, warrents, court orders and such. If no hits, approved. As very few felons apply, very few applications are disallowed. It is primarily a data base of law abiding citizens. But you can bet that data can be used by govt to target law abiders for reconditioning when they decide to get to that executive order.

Technically it's the same. Their court orders are just issued in secret...for secret reasons...with secret justifications...with no true oversight...by people who's names you are not worthy to know or question.
