We just keep shooting ourselves in the foot... WILKESBORO, N.C., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina said they are searching for a man whose gun accidentally fired during a conversation about the Second Amendment at a store. Wilkesboro police said the unidentified man was engaged in a discussion about the Second Amendment and gun rights at the GNC store Tuesday evening when he took out his gun to show an employee and accidentally fired off a round into a printer, WFMY-TV, Greensboro, reported Thursday. The employee told police the man said he "could not go down for this" and fled the store. Police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information about the incident. © 2013 United Press International, Inc. All Rights Reserved. encouraging concealed carry is not good. not everyone should have a gun on them.

Since he wasn't identified we don't know for sure he was a CCW (licensed), but he is most certainly a licensed idiot.

I do agree that not everyone should carry a gun, but that does not mean we should not encourage more people to do so. Just be sure to include in your discussion context of the responsibility, training and mindset to do it properly and safely. Anyone that draws their gun in a public setting to show it off to the clerk, or anyone else, needs some better reasoning and common sense. They also need a life lesson about how running away usually makes things worse (also a responsibility issue). It is very possible, that he ran because he could not legally own the gun he was showing off and misshandling. |
