So, the wife and I recently made the second 1.5 hour trip to Seattle to pick up her new 9mm pistol after waiting two weeks for them to get it in.
After clearing the computerized background check (again) we are brought over to pay for the pistol. Moments before handing over our credit card, the clerk reveals that we can't leave with it unless she has a concealed carry permit. He wants to FAX her ID to our local PD and then he'll let us know in 3-5 business days if she can come back AGAIN to pick up the gun we will have paid for already.
Since it's a 3-hour round trip every time, we were...how do I put this...resistant to his plan.
I was sure to explain my position clearly.
Anyway, reading up on gun laws (this was to be our first pistol purchase in WA) reveals nowhere that what this dipshit was telling us is right. It may be, but I can't find it anywhere.
Does anyone know the story here? Is this some Outdoor Emporium special rule or is it grounded in reality?
Thanks!
