When riding what do you do with your pistol? So that it isn't hanging out your pants for the world to see.

In the trunk. Not the best place tactically, but at least it isn't hanging out from under my gear & I don't have to worry about landing on it in case of a get off.

Ya but wouldn't it rattle around? I just kept it on my while ridding today but had enough clothes to keep it covered. But being the squid I am, in the summer just a tshirt won't do it I don't think.

I usually keep a small towel with me & just wrap up my holstered sidearm in it. It fits snugly in the farthest forward space in a GSXR's trunk area. No rattling around!:top:

So incase of trouble........ "wait hold on, time out, I wasn't ready" would be the proper response?

If you were to read my first response I said, "Not the best place tactically". Yes, the proper response would be, "excuse me while I whip this out"!

Dirt riding in the mountains, my subcompact fits in my coat pocket or camel-bak....street riding I'm stuck with putting it in front of my hip -in jeans. I don't bring it in full leathers. My bike doesn't have a trunk and I'm too much of an elitist snob to put my tank bag on my gas tank in case it scratched it.

Also a good way to carry a bottle of water, small camera, an apple, and a couple of diapers. :top:

At the end of the Volcano Evacuation Route
I have been struggling with this also and haven't yet come up with a solution that I am happy with. In luggage is inaccessable, inside riding gear is relatively inaccessable, too and uncomfortable. "Fanny" packs seemed to shout out "I'm carrying!" even when they were in fashion, probably more so now.

I don't think that I could effectively use an ankle holster, either, because my boots don't have any extra room available inside. Plus, it would either be rubbing against the bike on the inside of my ankle or sticking out on the outside. Hmmm; how are you going to make that work?

Ya the Ankle holster didn't work out. I dont wear a full suit so I got a g27 to carry while I ride rather then carrying the blocky g29. Also the P3AT fits nicly in the pocket.

Not having a concealed permit, is it legal to transport a pistol by putting it in a backpack--unloaded--along with the clips--unloaded--and bullets?

seal it in a mayonaaise jar on funk and wagnles front porch.

Seruously - no need to have mags unloaded, so long as no mag is in the pistol. Get your CCP.

Of course we are assuming that you are OK to ahve a pistol in the first place....
+1 on getting your CPL. And get at least a basic training course.

Just carry it

As long as you are leagal age just open carry. I usually open carry when CC isn't an option. Even with a CWP it is leagal to OC. If sm1 reports you, so what. The police can't do anything unless you are doing something illegal. If your pulled over/stopped just kindly explain to the officer, "I am exercising my right to carry, and I have no viable CC option. Police of the 2 wheeled variety carry open, so can you. If some fluffy liberal reports you for carrying, or questions you, this makes a great opportunity to spread the good word that not all "pistol packers" are bad people, that the good majority of us are good law abiding citizens. Just my 2 cents.
