another option for you would be to spend $20 in gas to go to a legal spot to shoot for free!

true, i see that it is.
I did find a range indoors that is not so bad, and they have tons of stock ammo, guns and everything else gun related.
The Marksman on 512 and canyon, It seems like a pretty good place.

Well yeah, so you pay $100 for initiation and $90 for the first year, and $90 per year after that. No range fees, maybe have to buy targets there, likely an FFL in the club, opportunities for competition, classes in whatever, maybe discounted reloading gear and/or ammo, lots of knowledgeable members to hang out with. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I'm not a member there, just kind of parroting some of the benefits of the club I do belong to. I find it to be a very good deal.

my family and I will be attending a gun safety course there, I plan on looking into the membership and will probably join.

Good deal. I will say don't be put off if the instructors/club officers come across as a bit strong and restrictive. There are safety/insurance issues that clubs have to deal with and they need to get the messages across. Get away from the structured front end of things, and I think you will find, as I have, that everyone involved is pretty cool and easy to deal with. Even the crotchety range masters.

However, if they don't offer the the things you like to do, move on. There are other clubs around. Although, PB looks like a decent place with a terrific selection of activities.

Yeah if you shoot alot it's worth it. Once a month all year is pretty easy to do.

Tacoma sportsman is about 10, but I doubt you'll find anything cheaper than that. It's also outdoor, but I personally can't stand indoor ranges. So, I guess I really didn't answer any of your questions. lol..

how do i go about finding said "legal spot" to shoot ?

el oh el.

first step:
find out who owns land you can shoot on (hint: the government)
second step:
find access to that land
third step:
make sure that spot isn't closed to shooting.

every agency has their own rules for who can shoot what where.

happy hunting :)

*I know a spot or 2, but I won't be sharing them because they aren't any good....I'm looking for a better spot....you know....in my "free time"

so in other words, i go find a service road, drive down it for a while, hop out hike in the woods for a while, then set up targets and shoot.
and make sure there are no (No Shooting) signs in the area along with no people.
