Anybody else sick of the 1911's birthday. You can only buy ones NOBODY WANTS. You want a Sig 1911, or low end Springfield, or an overpriced Kimber? No problem! Ruger, S&W, Target grade Springfield? Nope, Nada, Nyet, and Non! Can't find one!

Rant over. As you were!:vroam:

There is another reason I can't wait for 2012. Can you guess what it is? Clue, it doesn't have anything to do with 1911's.

If all goes well, the whole world of gun ownership and 2A rights may well get a new, and positive, direction.

FWIW, Ben's in Renton is a Kimber dealer and always has a bunch in stock, plus some other 1911s as well.

Federal Way Discount Guns always has some Springfields (I got my Loaded MC Operator there) Colts, Kimber and others. I've seen Sigs and others there as well.

The new Ruger 1911 I've only seen a 'display only' model at Sportco in Fife, but that was a couple months ago.

I'm not a kimber fan. Too much money. Very good gun, but I'd get an S&W first and save $200 and have just as good a gun. I'm talking the standard production class guns. Not the super Kimbers. The top of the line are a different story.

Springfield, just from talking to folks at the range, seems to be hit or miss in the accuracy department. Pun not intended and this sentence was added after a complete readthrough of my response:mfclap: Good ones hold their own with any 1911 out there. Bad ones don't, and this is going to be my "target" pistol. My SHTF gun is my M&P.

Believe it or not the more I research, the more SIG is looking good. I'm not thrilled with the non-traditional extractor, but the S&W has the same deal, and the S&W is a proven performer.

So yeah, you can find 1911s out there. But the specific models I really want are sold out. Even online.
