Please Clarify

Other than cost, why is it so much easier to purchase a rifle than a pistol? Is it because of the concealability of a pistol? Or is it just the government's way of hitting us where it's personal... really makes no sense to me.

because of skynyrd.

Oooh Saturday night special...
For twenty dollars you can buy yourself one too...

Oooh let me tell you all about it...

Well hand guns are made for killin'
They ain't no good for nothin' else
And if you like to drink your whiskey
You might even shoot yourself
So why don't we dump 'em people
To the bottom of the sea
Before some ole fool come around here
Wanna shoot either you or me

Cuz if u mad u might buy a pistol and shoot someone in a 'crime of passion' but if you had 5 days to chill and think about it, you wouldn't do it. Of course no 'crimes of passion' have ever been committed with longs guns, so it all makes perfect sense.

Read the Crime Statistics. Pistols, because of ease in which they can be concealed get the nod as weapons of choice when criminals choose.

Seems stupid to target pistols when someone with deadly intent can merely buy a shotgun, AR-15, or AK47 and be even more deadly, without waiting.

Wonder how many shotguns are used in "Crimes of Passion".

Either way, a gun's a gun. AK-47 can surely cause more damage than a pistol in the same amount of time.

Because the ones making the rules are idiots... Watch this genius, who sponsored legislation and is afraid of "barrel shrouds" (heat shields) but doesn't know what it is...

What is a barrel shroud? - YouTube

I guess we're lucky we have things like AKs to distract these fools or they'd go after all guns with more energy.

I actually think videos like the following are bad for us keeping our guns. You've Been Lied To About Guns, Common Hunting Calibers Are More Deadly Than The AK-47 - YouTube Keep 'em as stupid as we can.

^^ My personal favorite is bayonet lugs. I would love for ANY anti-gunner to show me the stats of how many people are injured/killed by fixed bayonets on rifles. Go on, I'll wait....

And yet they are considered 'evil' and the sign of an 'assault weapon'. Gimme a break.
