Question 22LR simi-auto pistol question?

Who makes a 22LR simi-auto pistol that holds more than 10 rounds?

Thumbs down Not interested in a short rifle

Nope not even close. I'm looking for something I can wear as a pistol. Not a shortened rifle.

Ramline used to make 14 round mags for the Mark II pistols, and I'll occasionally see a new in box one at my funky LGS. That's as high as I've heard. It was explained to me that it's easier to make a reliably feeding "banana" shaped mag for the 22lr due to length and rimmed nature of the cartridge. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, it explains why it's hard to make a pistol high-cap mag, as it would need to be straight, and no shortage of high-caps for things like a 10/22 carbine.

Well there is the Keltec PMR-30, but it's a .22Mag, not LR. Holds 30 rounds and is truly a pistol.

Thanks Pete. Thats closer to what I'm looking for. But, I'm still looking for 22LR.
I'm suprized with alot of double stack 380, 9mm and, 40 cal. that no one makes a double stack 22LR.

I figured it had to do with the design of the cartridge not liking to be double stacked. Even the high capacity magazines for the 10/22 all single stack the rounds don't they?

380, 9mm & .40 cartridges were designed for auto's, .22 LR was not.

The 25 Rd Magazine's for the Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 are of a single stack design also...

My remington .22lr has a double stack magazine... I own 10 mags all jam when feeding.... Maybe should have stuck with single stack when they designed that one

That makes sense. The 22LR round was never designed to be loaded the way I want them to be used(double stacked)! Thanks for Everyone's input!

That's what I was talking about when I mentioned the "banana" shape. It's easy to have the rims, and the lead maintain contact and feed reliably in a mag shaped like yours. You "stack" the bullets and they take that shape naturally. Straight pistol mags require some serious R&D to get the controlled feed just right.
