public range

Wodering if anybody has been to a public shooting range in the last month?
Are the ranges jam packed all day,or is it a wasteland?
With all the ammo flying off the shelves are people hoarding or shooting all day?
Thinking about going to a public range now and then when the shooting club I belong to has events, and I can't just go in and shoot, but I don't want to shoot with 9 or 10 newbies if I can help it.

Couldn't really comment on what it's like down in your neck of the woods, but I can tell you it's been fine up here. It's more a factor of time of day/night than the current climate. I tend to shoot mid-day and it's easy to get a lane. But at night it's a bit tougher -- but like I said, that's always been the case.

haven't been to a public range in years.

im lucky enough to have a secluded spot right off 101 by me.

literally 20-30min trip...

I shoot in Pe Ell once a month and often the only one there.

on a side note, I found out the answer to my questions today. I went to my members only range and it was packed all day.

Oh wow! But yeah, I would kind of expect a weekend, mid-day to be packed...

Try something odd like a Tuesday at 2:30 or something. Might be surprised at how open the lanes are.
