Anyone have a shot timer they'd like to get rid of? :)

But seriously, I'm looking to get one and am wondering what experience any of you have had with 'em...

The timer apps I've tried take too much tuning/adjustment to get reliable results from. But that was last summer when me and some guys tried a bunch of different ones. There might be a good one out now.

I use a CED8000 CED8000 Timer

I think any of the CED, PACT or Competition Electronics timers will work well.

Competition Electronics has a deal right now for 5 timers for $520, $104 each.

I might be interested in getting one. We would only 3 more people that wants one.

I'm curious how these (or any) do at the range? I mean on a COF any other shooter is quite a ways away. But at the range they're all very close. Any experience there, Damon?

They are adjustable. But at an indoor range with someone right next to you, mine can pick up the other shots. I turn down the sensitivity and put a piece of tape over the mic and it works ok. Outdoors I don't have any problems at all. On some of the CE timers we use at the matches, I have to turn UP sensitivity to pick up my 22 rifle at the Steel matches.

I use a CED7000, and it works great. The interface is compact, but not intuitive. If you're just doing basic stuff like delayed start beeps, part times, and shot timer functions, it works great.

It does pick up other people at the indoor range, even at the lowest sensitivity setting.

I have no complaints.
