Stop congratulating yourselves!

With the recent announcement of democrats NOT pressing forward with another AWB, the firearm industry seems awash in praises and congratulations. To these people and industry experts, I can only say "STOP CONGRATULATING YOURSELVES"!

The larger picture has been missed, and people are fat dumb and happy with having beaten the liberals. If you fall into that category, please stop. Seriously.

If I told you I was going to beat you to death, would you not feel more than slightly offended? Would you not be upset with the threat, especially if I tried to carry it out? Would you feel it was suddenly ok if I only broke your nose, or fractured your eye socket? Would you be good with that? Would you congratulate yourself, and would your friends think it was awesome?

Let us make no mistake that additional restrictions are about to be placed while people are dancing and congratulating themselves. The death of a thousand cuts is being carried out to the 2nd Amendment right in front of us, and the end is certainly near.

The idea of ending personal sales without a background check is simply the first step in logging, tracking, and eventual restriction of firearms. Remember that each and every "background check" is done via computer and logged. If you are still smug in having "blocked the libs", your heart might be in the right place, but your head is not in the game.

Stay safe,

Stick

I wish it were all over, so we can get back to normal.

But, I fear there's far MORE to come.

The people pushing for more control aren't stupid.
The far reaching legislation may fail, and they know that. It's a psychological tactic called anchoring. Our first exposure to legislation was so over the top that any subsequent, lesser bills almost seem benign.

This battle may have been won, but the war is far from over.

I think the best long term solution is to educate the masses on the reality of guns, crime, etc, because they're sure as **** not getting it from much of the media. And I'm not talking about converting them into gun lovers/owners/whatever. I'm talking about debunking all the bullshit the media spreads to strike fear or otherwise tug at emotional strings, devoid of any facts or rational discourse. Let the people have the real FACTS about guns, gun control, crime rates, etc and then decide for themselves. I think most rational people, given the facts, would come to the conclusion that gun control simply doesn't work, that it is NOT about safety, and is in fact about people control.

Take the term 'assault rifle' as an example. It is not a military term. It is not a gun industry term. It is a made up term by the gun grabbers and media to mean whatever they want it to mean to scare people into banning something they don't know or understand. But what if they did understand that a .223 bullet is a .223 bullet whether it comes out of a semi-auto AR, a Mini-14 or bolt action rifle. That pistol grips and bayonet lugs have NOTHING to do with the lethality of a weapon at all.

It's these kinds of misconceptions and prejudices that turn average people that normally would not even care about guns, into anti-gunners. They've been lied to and misled, but don't realize it. We don't necessarily need everyone to be on 'our side' we just need them to hear the truth, see the facts, and let them draw their own conclusions, which I have faith most would do the right thing.

That little bit of legislation would be HUGE, though.

And we don't have to do background checks on each other if we sell a car. I just sell it to you -- you can register it, use if for parts, not register it, etc. Has nothing to do with me.

This would be a significant infringement on our 2A rights. Honestly, I'd rather see a ban on PDRs and/or magazine capacities than mandatory background checks/registration...
