All,

I am looking for a Smith & Wesson 686 4" barrel, .357 mag.

SERIAL No. AVE551

This was my dad's service revolver. He passed away last year and I would love to find it. He worked for the Pierce Co. Sherriff's dept and they sold it to The Marksman in Puyallup.

Unfortunately they do not have records from before 2001.

If anyone knows anyone with this model gun, maybe the could have them check the serial number? I would gladly replace said firearm with same or something else.

Thanks,
Ryan B

How can they not have records prior to 2001? they are supposed to keep the 4473's until they go out of business and then some. If the Marksman received it and then resold it it HAS to be logged in their books.

Its Federal LAW

Now its possible they just don't want to help you out.

This. How a gunshop can`t keep records is beyond me. The Pigeon club I used to be a member of kept better records than these chucklenuts.
