Need Advice

I have done something rather scatterbrained and need some advice. I pawned a pistol at a local pawn shop with my Oregon drivers license. Not finding affordable housing in Oregon I moved up to Washington. The pawn shop told me I could get my pistol back with my Washington drivers license and even renewed the pawn loan with my Washington drivers license. But when I went to get my pistol back they refused to give it back to me stating new Oregon rules that prohibit gun sales to Washington residents. I went to the local Police who suggested I take this to the Oregon State Police and to request the pawn shop ship the pistol to a Washington Pawn shop. I called the Oregon pawn shop and requested they send the pistol to a Washington pawn shop. I will pay all the fees required. They haven't gotten back with me yet. In case they refuse what other resources do I have beside suing them? One of the pawn shop employees was very rude to me. I paid 750 for the pistol which is new in the box. The pawn was for 150. I would of never pawned it if I hadn't of been desperate. The money was for a vet bill for my dog.

They will need to ship it to an FFL so a background check can be performed in accordance with new Washington and Oregon laws. There is nothing illegal about this and they should have no issues doing it. You pay them for it, they ship it to an FFL, you go to the FFL and have a BG check done, then pick up your pistol. That's how it works.

Many dealers in Vancouver or anywhere in Washington are FFL's. I'd suggest calling a local dealer and talk with them about having it shipped there.
