This is a Olympic Arms OA-93 pre ban true side folding AR-15. No recoil spring in the butt. Quad rail, Ergo Foregrip and a 9x40 Tactical Scope. Has 2 20 round magazines. These are at the top of the ban list. Great gun, but forced to sell due to the upcoming birth of our child.

$1650 located in Spokane.

I thought the OA-93 was a pistol... I hope I am mistaken, but it looks like you've converted a pistol into a rifle and it cannot be a pistol agan. :-(

I know that new AR lowers not assembled into a complete rifle can be made into a pistol configuration, but as soon as you put a rifle stock and 16"+ barreled upper on it, it is and will always be a rifle.

This was built as a rifle from the factory in the early 90s. The OA-93 was built as both a rifle and a pistol. I am not sure about the pistol, but the rifle is no longer produced.

On a side note I have seen a OA-93 for sale with both pistol and rifle uppers. This would lead me to beleive you can convert, but I am not positive.

actually a pistol can go to rifle then back to pistol, you just can't go from rifle to pistol if it starts as a rifle.

And for legal reasons you need to remove the shorter barrel before putting the buttstock on otherwise for a couple minutes you are in possession of a SBR.

you can thank thompson contenders for us having the ability to go from pistol to rifle and back :)

And another no-no for pistols is forward grips, that evidently makes them even more evil.

OA-93 was made as a pistol & rifle as already stated by low80elco. The pistol is still currently available as is a SBR version for LEO only.

As stated by Kolat a pistol can be made into a rifle & back without violating any laws, but you can not convert a registered rifle into a pistol. If you are just buying a lower if you register the lower as a pistol it can be made into a pistol or rifle as you see fit.

& lastly, as stated by Kolat, as soon as you put a fore grip on an AR pistol it falls into the AOW category.

I guess my what I read somewhere else was wrong. I wondered about it because I used to have a couple of mect-tech carbine conversion kits (glock 40 and 1911 45) and there was no problem going from pistol to rifle and back.

It doesn't make any difference to me, but I'm curious. tkmech21 has his location down as CA. Aren't these illegal in Cali?
