I was told this was a biathlon rifle built for the Olympics late 50’s early 60’s It’s a .308 win. Douglas heavy barrel, what APPEARS to be a Fajen thumbhole stock, (I’ve had 2 dealers tell me that’s what it looks like) built on a large ring Mauser action, crisp trigger with about a 2.5 Lb pull. It is scary accurate! The guy I bought it off was busting rock chucks at 900yds. I have had it informally appraised at $1500.00 I say informally because it was counter person at sportco and I have no idea of his credentials. It was glass bedded by someone at some time in the past who tried but didn’t do a professional job, however, the barreled action can be removed for a better job easily. The dings in the stock have mostly been removed, but can still be seen. Coming along with the rifle will be Olympic Redfield sights, Leupold one piece base and rings. Adjustable Buttpad has about 2 inches of adjustment. Trades I'm looking for: full size .45ACP 1911, .40SW Beretta 96, AR15 200yd group ![]() Last edited by vic; 12-17-2011 at 05:39 PM. |
