I picked up a Rock Island Armory (ARMSCOR) M5 12ga shotgun
and was told that the Mossberg 500 stock would fit, so I picked up an ATI 6 pos stock
it doesn't fit

it's dam close, and would only take a little work
but I'm a little afraid to start cutting myself

anyone have any experience with this?
or know anyone who might?

Oh, come on...buy yourself a dremel, and take off just a wee bit at a time...
You'll be happy when you have done it yourself.

I ruin less now than when I started!

I'm pretty far away but maybe I can help.
Sometimes the power tool isn't the best solution. I've done wonders with a piece of dowel wrapped with sandpaper.

Yep, yep.

I had to put a radius on something, and I got a socket that was the correct size, and wrapped it with emery cloth. Turned my piece back and forth by hand until I removed the amount of material I needed...

Point to remember--when possible, make your alterations to the least expensive piece...ask me how I know!

You know what else might help, is to take a couple of close up pics and say:
"I'm trying to fit this peg into this hole..." or something like that.

Then, maybe someone might have a better suggestion for you.

And, an approximation of how much material you think might need to come off.

An 1/8'th inch? 16th? A few thousandths'?

There are different solutions for different problems.
