I'm planning an elk hunt this coming season. But, have yet to settle on a location. Was considering Packwood. But have also seen alot of elk in the Greenwater area as well as some sights on the eastern side of the state. Have never hunted in this state before. My experiences lay solely in the rough terrian of NW Colorado with mule deer, mountain lion(cougar) and brown bear, with a little diamondback rattlesnake on the side .

Would love to touch base with someone that wants to score some kills and has knowledge of the terrian.

The materials used would be high caliber firearm. No bows, or muzzle-loader.

Let me know if interested.

why you asking b ?
Are you guys new to this state? or locals, I am guessing your from out of state. The reason no one posted up is becuase no one wants to give up there honey holes, there are alot of hunters in this state and with thick woods and under brush tons of pressure it is hard to be successful here. I have resorted to not telling anyone where go besides which GMU, becuase word travels fast. With that being said good luck!!!

^ true. Washtucna is kinda close to were I live but I own property in the blues so I go there just because I bow hunt and like to stalk and stay hidden. Not sure how much public land there is out there though, I know most is private farm ground that most locals only let locals hunt so if you haven't hooked up with someone from the area yet you might before you make the drive. We have alot of guys from Tri cities just show up and hunt like they own the place and last year alone we arrested 8 people on farm ground and up in the mountains so be careful.

Elk for that area will be tough but plenty of mule and white tail, at that time of the year they will still be in the higher elevation. They usually start heading down by late November but you'll have to be closer to the Blues if you want the big guys, mostly rag horns further out.

They're all over the place with different guys (or occasionally my dad).
