Hey guys,

Well this is my first gun forum membership. I am an active member on GeoMetroForum.com also, Yes I own a Metro . I have owned a BLR .243 with a Leupold scope since I was about 12 or 13. It's an awesome rifle, very accurate, and powerful enough to bring down an elk. Yesterday after 9 months of research, I purchased a Springfield XD .40 compact in Vancouver, WA. I was expecting to be able to walk out with it, but apparently there's a 5 day waiting period :censored:(failed to research that.) So I'll have to drive 90 miles each way to pick it up next week:banghead:. This was my first time purchasing... so now I know for future reference. I'm really excited to pick it up, I've heard nothing but great things about it. The old man has a Remington 7mag and a Glock .40 sub compact. He definitely has more on me in the rifle category, but I'm hoping to edge out his Glock with this Springfield.

Judging by the frequency of posts, it looks like a pretty active forum, which is always good to see. Look forward to talking to ya'll.

Cheers,

Matt T.

Metros are notorious for minor failures, like temp sensors, throttle position sensors, strange noises, and all kinds of other weird problems. Most of the talk in there is people helping people. I've been able to do most all the work on my car, because of all the help I get on there. I think they have close to 3,000 members.

5 day waiting period is :censored: I take it you at least got a good deal on the XD if you drove that far in the first place?

BTW if you like the XD, for your next purchase you might want to consider an XDM. They are sweet. I just picked up the new XDM .45 a couple months ago. Great guns.

Welcome from your neighbor to the south. That sucks you have to have the waiting period. It only takes 10 minutes to purchase a gun in this great state. I generally go to the local gun shows here or my local gun shop.

Welcome to the forums!

Look into a CWP... when you have one, the wait time is ... well, there is no wait time.

No wait in this great state either, for resident CPL holders.

I picked it up on Tuesday and I love it. I was looking at the XDM's but I just wasn't attracted to them, a little to chiseled/ futuristic looking for me. I'm totally new to hand guns so I'm learning a lot, and really enjoying it. CWP will be my next purchase.

Don't be sorry about the metro hahaha, It gets 50mpg. More mpg's = more ammo $
