Hello. My name is Randy Bragge. I'm a retired Sailor originally from MN and stationed in Hawaii prior to making my way to the Bremerton area to work in the shipyard after serving at Bangor and retiring to the permanent disabled list. I've been busting my ass working on various gun bills since 2009. I'm not sure how to quantify my efforts, but I do speak to legislators face to face as much as I can to promote gun bills like 1016 (silencer use) and HB 1561/SB 5956 (SBR). So far I'm batting .500
I think the key to passing pro-gun legislation is getting out to meet your legislator and convincing them that you are not some sort of gun nut who wants to ease firearm possession restrictions but in fact are one of the nice guys who likes to enhance their gun collection.
When I post on most gun forums I assume that anyone in Olympia is going to read what I post. This means I must temper my comments and only write what I can prove is correct or qualify it as being only my opinion.
After we get SBR's back this year, next is SBS, then maybe MG's. We will need lots of help doing this. Seeing six people show up to support a gun bill in Olympia means hardly ayone gives a damn. If you want to own guns in WA and live less than 100 miles from Olympia, there should be no reason why you can't take a day off from work to attend. Rant over.
I hope to gather more support for future gun bills and learn from those of you who have something valuable to share. Thanks.
Randy
