Well after 30 years I've finally managed to escape Kommieforniastan via a job opportunity in Portland. I start early January so I'm currently looking for an apartment. Vancouver looks like a great area but the passage of I594 really has me hesitant to seek residence on that side of the river. Should I let this detour me from living in WA? I'm open to all suggestions and opinions on the matter. Thank you all in advance and I look forward to buying my first standard capacity magazine and wasting a bunch of ammo doing mag dumps (just to get it out of my system).

If you're working in Portland, perhaps living in or near Portland would be ideal. Don't count Washington out yet. There is fierce fighting ahead.

The 'couve' is a great less expensive option if your working in portland.

I grew up down there. Where is your job in portland.. if its the north side if Portland then the vancouver is great.. if its south.. the commute will kill you. (well your coming from LA, so you get traffic.. but up here everyone drives ridiculously slow)

I594 sucks.. but I highly doubt Oregon will be far behind.
