I'm new to this forum but not new to the web. You can find my user name WV338 on several forums. I'm left handed which was my first reason for looking at the Savage line about 15 years ago. Since then I have found them to be great rifles for their accuracy and rebuilding capabilities. I started with a model 16 in 7mm-08. I decided to rebuild it about 5 years ago and built a 260 Remington with a 26" McGowen barrel. My friends love to shoot it because everyone can shoot 1/2" groups almost every time. My next project was a 338 Federal mountain rifle on a Boyd's thumb hole stock. It is one of my favorite hunting rifles. My other builds are 300 WSM, 338-06, and 22-250. I am also a TC fan. I have both the Contender and Encore. I've played with a verity of barrel configurations and stocks. For pistol hunting I love my 338 Federal. I'm looking forward to everyone's input on this site. Thank you...

Love the TC break-actions
Contender especially but the Encore offers chambers that exceed it's range of tolerance6x223 pic.jpg
