Escaping California (retiring soon)

Hi y'all !

Currently hold CCW (CFP, CHL, CPL) in California, Oregon, Washington, & Nevada.

The kids:

Sig Sauer P226 9mm,
P220 Carry .45,
P239 .357 Sig;
Kahr PM9 9mm;

Henry Long Ranger .308
Ruger 10/22 .22LR

Gone but not forgotten:

Colt LE6920 .223 (Thanks for nothing, California!)
Arsenal SGL23-61 7.62x39

Smith & Wesson 626 .357 Magnum
Springfield XDS 9mm
Colt Combat Commander .45
Sig Sauer Mosquito (Bought a .22LR conversion kit for the P226)

I'm interested in getting recommendations for ranges & BLM locations for practice, holster draw, etc. Looking forward to moving to a tyranny-free location - It'll be a nice change.

I've lived in Massachusetts, Texas, Nevada, Southern Cal & Northern Cal. Vacation time now used to scout potential retirement destinations.

I like what I've seen so far east of Vancouver WA, Newman Lake & Liberty Lake area, Klamath County, & Coeur d'Alene. Planning to explore coastal Oregon next. Other recommendations appreciated.

Looking forward to the conversation!

Welcome from another Kali occupant. Good luck on where ever you drop anchor. I like the Idaho panhandle, and get up there when I can. My son moved back from Coeur d'Alene a couple years ago. Since you've lived in the snow, you're prolly set. This forum is very slow. If you're not on Calguns already, hook up with those folks too. PAX

Newbie here myself.

I lived in Newman Lake and worked in Liberty Lake till I moved back here (Auburn) a couple of years ago. Visited Idaho quite often. If I can offer any Info on Newman Lake/Liberty lake area, just shout. Glad to help out.

Klamath County is cold in the winter-real cold. I have been in Chiloquin when it was -40 with wind chill factor- not my cup of tea.

Lots of nice places in Southern Oregon, some rural some more suburban. There are rural place around Grants Pass that are nice but close to town. Colonial Valley for one, also some nice areas in Merlin,OR nearby. Rogue River is a nice little town and there are rural areas outside of it. Shady Cove in Jackson County.

Bandon on the coast is nice but very expensive real estate. Give me a better idea what you are looking for and I can make a better recommendation.

As a gun owner the SHTF in WA and OR. The gun laws have gotten absurd. I live in Central WA, Yakima Valley, and I would so love to move to Northern Idaho. Gorgeous country, lots of deer and Elk, gun friendly.
