Anyone have one on theirs? Looking for either a red or green laser to go on my XD. Want to stay relatively inexpensive ($150 or less) as I know these things can get outlandish in a hurry. With that said, does anyone have one? Do you like it? |

Streamlight TLR2 or M6x, Pentagon MD2, Surefire x400. Notice I didn't list any sub-150 options. That's because they suck. I have a Streamlight M6, and it's just ok. The M6x is supposed to be better (brighter laser). The Surefire is fucking tits. Pentagon is probably going out of business, so you might be able to find some killer deals on left over inventory. Oh, and avoid green, especially in your price range. They're cool airsoft toys, that's about it - they typically don't hold zero very well. |

If anything in the $150 range sucks, I'll hold off and put my money into other projects for the time being. :)

Me to! I love my streamlight. It rocks and is so easy to remove and install. Quote:

I'll prolly stick with red for the price/size but green definitely has advantages, especially in bright sunlight where red is hard to see. | |

My experiences with red lasers is they are fine in low light, but totally suck in daylight beyond about 5 feet. Green lasers rock! I have a gren pointer that will tag buildings over a mile away at night and is visible in daylight to about 50 yards. I will eventually put a green aser on the P22 - just have other priorities now.

I should have bought the new AimShot tactical green laser at the WAC show this past weekend. I'm kicking myself now. Grrr....

Serious question: Why do you want one? I only see downsides. 1. You're eyes are focused on a tiny dot, which at first you frantically have to find. 2. You're instantly in tunnel vision. 3. If you remove your eyes from the dot to check your surroundings you have to find the dot again. 4. One more thing to operate in an intense situation = bad. 5. You rely on it. Even if you are an excellent shot the presence of the laser will make you focus on it, rather than the multitude of other little details that should be processed. This is just my opinion but I think it's far more efficient to train more than use a laser. For home defense I have a Streamlight flashlight and XS night sights (best night sights IMHO). The Streamlight has a focused point of light with a pattern much like a sight that could be used in similar fashion as a laser but has the added benefit of illuminating and blinding the target. What do you guys think? Last edited by Raceface; 11-10-2009 at 05:45 PM. |
