Base & Rings Installation

So my parents are going to be getting me a scope/base/rings as a birthday/Christmas present, I was just wondering since this is my first rifle with optics, is it fairly easy to install the mount and attach the rings and what not? I'm looking at the rifle right now, and I see 2 screws exactly where the base would go. So I'm just wondering is mounting the base/rings something you can easily do from the comfort of your own home, or is it best to have a gun smith do it for you? Since I've never installed any of the equipment I don't really know how easy and or hard it is.. Input would be greatly appreciated!

I have managed to blunder though it on a couple of rifles.
Seems safe to say, once you get all the parts gathered together, if they don't make logical sense to you then you can take 'em to a smith to assemble the setup.

So long as you don't bend any metal or rip out threads, you should be fine. I've heard some armchair experts assert that "if it's made correctly nothing on a rifle should ever need loctite" to which I say bull-loney.

Blue locite can be your friend once you get everything working and looking like you want it.

Just take it easy, do your online research and as they say "RTFM"!
