Indoor ranges are becoming a thing of the past. Too many insurance liabilities. There is a great on in Lebanon or how ever you spell it. It's a ways away from pirtland but it's only $10 to get in. There have been times where I'm the only one there. I have found an abandoned rock quart east of stayton but the county has told me it's a no no now so I just head up the road a mile and got wild up there.

Might be a little ways out for you but I go to Molalla on some BLM land out there. A lot of people tend to make their way up there for shooting. There's an awesome backstop, room for targets, room for friends and I haven't had a bad experience once. The only thing is you need to be sure that you're vehicle is well equipped for bumps.

shooting near Portland

There are many opportunities to shoot on public lands, especially National Forest.

But I BEG you... please, please pick up your trash, your brass and targets,
so that we can continue to benefit from this PRIVILEGE.

Yes, I pick up trash from others, wherever I go...
not preaching - just recruiting ;-)

Cheers !

I used to go up Memaloose Rd a bunch, there are signs now that say you must go at least 5 miles in before you can shoot. All my previous favorite spots have been dozed or otherwise blocked off, not sure if that's due to all that crap folks leave behind, or the new batch of mushroom hunting folks that don't want bullets whizzing by while picking shrooms. Sometimes I go up the other side of the road our of Estacada and take the left across from Promontory Park, there's a quarry way back in there thats decent. There are some nice places off 26 past Brown's Camp as well, and like a previous poster mentioned !! PLEASE !! pack your crap out when you leave. I always take at least a pistol with me when I'm in the woods, but not always for shooting. I like picking edible shrooms and just plain hiking in the woods too, and nothing is more disheartening then seeing other people's left behind crap spoiling the natural beauty of the area we live in.
