So im in the market for another pistol. I like what i have seen with the p99 and unless the g18 becomes easier to get I will be picking one up in the near future. Im wanting any info that you guys may have. I have seen the wiki on it but cant find more info on it. I plan on using it for concealed carry and for work (armed security) I did read that there is a SW99 that is licensed by Smith and Wesson that comes in the .45 caliber but Im thinking maybe a 9 or 40 but im still on the fence.

Should have had them order you one. Around here find any gun is pretty easy. The place I get mine from has alittle of everything they will even order a gun and if you don't like it it's no biggie. It's not like they won't sell the gun to someone else

Ive had an SW99 in .40 for quite a few years. I still use it as my carry gun. I find it MUCH better to shoot than a glock. Other than a couple of jams in the first 100 or so rounds I have have not had a single issue, no matter what ammo I am shooting out of it.

What do you like the most and the least about it? I have never been a real big glock fan myself. Seen 2 blow up in peoples hands! The p99 and sw99 are identicle right? Do you know if there is a price difference?

I like the way it feels in my hand because it has a changeable back on the grip. I especially like the way it kicks compared to the glock, much easier for me to keep on target for multiple quick shots. The lowers are identical I believe but I think the slide's are different. I have heard that the Walther is actually a better gun, but haven't ever shot one so I don't really know. I got mine when they first came out and were fairly unknown. I have had mine so long, I have no idea, but I believe that the Walther was about $75 more at the time, again that was probably 8+ years ago. If you want to shoot the SW99 in a .40, I'm sure we can work out a time and place to meet and you can fire off some rounds. |
