Gun Kote'd 1911

I picked up my Safari Arms 1911 about two weeks ago from South Ridge Arms & Refinishing and am very happy with the custom job. I wasn't sure what model 1911 the pistol was because I bought it used, but thought it was a nice gun. I came across South Ridge Arms website just browsing and wanted my gun refinished similar to some of the ones on the website. I had a two-tone GunKote finish (Titanium & Black Chrome) with a Bobtail frame, Cocobolo grips, trigger job & reliability package, & night sights. The GunKote was put on the weapon and covered every place needed, very thorough and the finish was excellent - smooth but not highly reflective. The trigger job w/ hammer & sear was done to correct another gunsmith's 'reliability package' and the job is excellent, no catch when riding the hammer down. The Bobtail was done excellent, everyone I have shown has said it looks factory - Very Cool! The Cocobolo grips contrast beautifully against the new finish and they feel magnificent. Now for the finale...the sights were not available because they were an inside job that didn't go mainstream so David (the gunsmith) had to build the rear night sight and modify the frame. The work is phenomonal because the entire piece looks totally factory. The gun shoots like a dream with a 4.25 lb. pull - Totally Excellent!!! I'm having trouble attaching pics so check out the website: www.southridgearms.net
