Hey guy's I have a Gen 1 Glock 21, and I think it needs an upgrade, aparently there's a program where you can send it into glock and they'll upgrade all the components, and do a "slide cut upgrade" what I cant figure out is if they'll be upgrading the frame itself to a Gen 3 frame which I like alot more than the Gen 1, anyways just wondering if anyone here's sent their gun into glock for an upgrade?

Why does it need to be upgraded? Does it malfunction? Is it worn out? Will it really shoot any better once Glock has upgraded it? I've been a Glock armorer for two years now and I'll tell you, old ones run just as well as new ones, especially the .45's. Make sure you're replacing your recoil springs when needed, keep an eye on your pins and the slide stop spring and you're good to go. Although we've had guys run 21's for 7-9 years with a steady diet of aluminum cased ammo and never run any real maintenance. Glock's aren't like motorcycles, you're never going to get anywhere modding them. |

On the Glock forum they suggested it for better reliablity, and the new internal components would allow for a new extractor yada yada, and I wouldn't mind having a gen 3 frame opposed to a gen 1..
