I've been talking to a guy that wants to trade me my 07 thumpstar 125 pit bike that i value at $800 or so. He has a Blued ruger P345 with case one clip full box of shells and a cleaning kit. he said he would trade me everything he has for it as well as $100 and make the 100 mile drive to do the trade. my qustion is do you thing he is valuing his pistol to high? im not firm on my price and the pistol looks very nice in the pictures he sent me. what are your guys's opinions on this?

I would say he's WAY overpriced if he thinks it's worth the $800.00 you value your bike at. Check out Guns - Online Gun Auction - Guns for Sale at GunBroker.com to get some price ideas. Ruger P345 - 45 acp - with Night Sights 45ACP : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com |

Yeah.. he's high. Even if your bike is only worth $650 you should be able to get two of those rugers. sell the bike on craigs list, then pay cash for a gun. Cash is better to bargain with, and you can shop the one you want instead of the one you get stuck with. GOOD LUCK! |

I have been trying to sell it on CL. but with no title it is kinda hard. He said he doesn't care abou tthe title for it. and the lowest id go on the bick is $650. i looked up the value on the ruger and new they are 595 and the evtra clip and ammo and case i guess could be worth something. and then hes adding $100. i would perfer more for the bike. but have been trying to sell it gor a few months with only 3 people interested in it. i wanted 200 on top of the pistol. have i think we would settle at 150 when he gets here.

$595.00 is MSRP on that gun. New Ruger's are well known for selling for FAR less then their MSRP unless it is a brand new model. Even then you can still probably find it for less then MSRP.

ahhhhh well the title does present a bit of a problem.. esp if you want to ride it on trails. Pit bike no prob.. but without an ORV tag your a little jacked. Have you shot one yet? |

not that model no. i hear nothing but good things about them. i think ill end up doing the deal. try for 200 on top of it and see where it goes. i just picked up a walter ppks that is a fun little gun. but im looking for a larger caliber pistol to carry and still have a fairly small frame. |

Josh, In all honest I would take the offer just to get rid of the bike. You might take a loss but vehicles are sort of a bad investment anyway. If youre the hard up to get rid of the bike, now is your opportunity. Thats just me though. Best of luck! :) |

if theres no way to get a title through the DMV that might be your best bet to take the loss. i know i shot the P95 the 9mm version and i wasnt a fan, but you might be.

i took the deal. got 150 on top of the pistol. full 50 round box of FMJ's two clips and a speed loader with case. The gun is very light and fit well in my hand. im a fan of it. havn't shot it yet but it should be fun. I would have had to wait 3 years to get a title for the bike. im happy withthe deal. i never used the bike anyways. |

The P345 is a good gun, very similar in feel to a 1911 but a bit bulkier on top, their mags are nearly identical to the 1911 mags, I believe the 1911 mags can be modified to work for a much lower cost. The P345 has one week spot, the magazine disconnect can cause it to have cycling issues, at least on the earlier models. It is a super easy fix, all you have to do is remove the rear sight and remove the mag disconnect spring and mag disconnect. P/N 6&7. Takes about 1 minute. The allen screw holding the sight on is a tight sucker. Mine was fairly accurate, I could keep groups under 2" at 21' with a full magazine. Still wish I didn't sell it. |
