Took her to the range and fired 100 rounds of S&B 115gr FMJs. Fired flawlessly all 100. 6" groups at 50 feet. I think I am gonna like this gun.

I was looking for one before I bought my M&P9C. None were to be found local :(

Nevertheless I'm a fan of Ruger (I own 4 of them) and this one will be mine someday :)

How much did you pay for it?

Another range report!

Took the LC9 to the range again today and fired another 200 rounds. This time the ammo was reloads from my brother (the best reloader around by the way). Zero malfunctions and excellent grouping! I am officially a fan of this gun now and recommend it to anyone thinking about getting one.

Gun's and Ammo liked it!

Its the Featured gun on the cover of the Latest 'Gun's and Ammo' magazine. April issue.
It got glowing reviews. At just 17oz. it looks serious!
I gotta shoot one!

It looks like a a great piece to carry when I ride.

I'm waiting for Mig to get his, and I'll likely follow suit. Would be nice to upgrade my riding piece from .380 to 9mm.

Zacty my thoughts. A Ruger LC9 w/Crimson Trace combo. would be nice.
C/C and S&W have done a couple. The combo's keep the price down for the pair.

New LC9 owner

I just got mine 2 weeks ago, for use as a backup gun. Having shot around 100 rounds out of her (her name's "Roxy"), I'm real pleased with the results-no jams or misfires at all. The super thin grips were a bit tough to adjust to, as I'm usually a Glock or M&P guy, but I've pretty much overcome that. Roxy tends to shoot to the left, with basic practice rounds, and I'd also like to see a Pachmayr style neoprine optional grip. The sights are awesome for such a small weapon, and I may add nights sights if offered later. My carry load is the Speer 124 grain +P Gold Dot, "short barrel".
Two big criticisms. One, I find it incredibly cheap of Ruger to only supply one magazine, when two is by far the industry norm. Two, I HATE that stupid red "loaded chamber indicator", which I refer to as a San Francisco Safety....you guys do the math on that one. I'm also not pleased about the mag disconnector safety, or that stupid internal lock.
As a critic, I'd normally give this one 4 stars ouf 5, but because of the negatives, it gets a bare 3. Maybe Ruger will listen here-we in WA don't appreciate having politically correct weapons forced on us just because a few of the other 49 states enjoy it.

Yup, she's a keeper, and would make a fine companion on the trails (I'm a runner too), and in a fanny pack while cycling :)

More like a few people in a few of the other states hate guns entirely and will do anything they can to annoy people who own them by requiring all the extra safeties, etc. I think Ruger is trying to simplify the product line by not making several different versions for different states. That being said, I think the manual safety is dumb on a DAO gun but the nice thing about it is you can choose not to use it I guess.

Agreed. My fiance, who packs a Taurus PT-709,and loves it,uses the manual safety all the time, whereas I typically do not. For storage,I just pop the mag out, and store separately. It's the red thingy and the internal that really get my goat.

Well I saw & shot Mig's LC9 and picked up one of my own last weekend. Put about 200 rounds through it with no problem. The DAO trigger takes a little getting used to, coming from striker-fired and single action guy, but the little feller can definitely shoot.

I think the loaded chamber thing is a little over the top as well, but whatever. The mag disconnect is retarded though, and I think there's already a way to remove/defeat that, which I will surely being doing.

I don't mind the manual safety, it's small and unobtrusive. It's also good if you're going to stick it in a jacket pocket etc without a holster, something I wouldn't really feel comfortable with just a straight DAO & no safety.

Now I'm just waiting for the CT Laserguard to come out!

Thats a good price. I just looked up my cost on wholesale and I doubt I could have gotten for much cheaper for you. Nice find.

My first Ruger...Daddy Likes!
The extended floorplate might not sound like a big thing, but getting three fingers on the grip is my new prerequisite for a CCW, helps getting them out of the holster too. So far I like everything about it, even though I haven't fired it yet.

That's why when I was shopping for my 9mm, the RC9 dropped completely off the list of contenders. I don't care what anybody says, I could "Feel" the loaded chamber indicator after putting in a new mag.

I ended up with an M&P. you could choose to NOT have a manual safety, NOT have a magazine safety, and the loaded chamber indicator is a witness hole. I have nothing against anyone wanting those features. But I prefer supporting a company that lets you choose.
